Part 3:
Stephen Hawkins-
Father Robert Spitzer-
Deepak Chopra-
Please Answer these questions:
1. What seemed to be the most interesting part of these discussions.
2. Please describe the viewpoint expressed by each of the presenters.
3. How do you think these opinions affect our society?
1.The most interesing part of these viddeos was that they all mention that some people say that we don't need a God to be proof. Some say that God didn't create man, man created God. "God may exist, but science can explain the universe without the need for a creator.
ReplyDelete2.Stephen Hawkings- God doesn't have to be proof for the creator of the universe.
Father Spitzer- that God is the main creator of the universe
Deepak Chopra- that there is a possiblity for a God because he can control what we cannot see; he says that his father said,"Something unknown is controling somethin we do not know".
3.In society these topic, does God exists affects us because there are the thing that we cannot see, yet there are the things that we have answers to, so we believe that we don't need God to be the creator for these.
1. In my opinion, the most interesting part about these videos of the discussion were that Father Robert Spitzer made many points. One being that our human nature needs to know we are living life to a full potential.
ReplyDelete2.Stephen Hawkins is the most important man in the wold of science today because he explores the possiblities in science. His viewpoint is that even if there is a god, that isnt needed in the proof of the universe being created.
Father Robert Spitzer is respected in the science and catholic realms. His viewpoint was looking at all of the science of the world there has to be a creator, God.
Deepak Chopra is a indian medical doctor, public speaker, and writer on subjects such as spirituality and is planning on writing a book with the man who co-wrote Steven Hawkins newest book. His viewpoint is like Spitzer's, that there has to to be a creater.
3. These opinions challange our society to think for themselves, to see what they believe. To question the opinions of others, and to ask questions
1. i thin the most interesting part about the video was all of steven haw kings thoughts. he is a very intelligent man.
ReplyDelete2. Stephen hawkings- science can prove the existence of earth without a creator.
Father Spitzer- He looks at all the aspects of science and he still believes that there has to be God.
Deepak Chopra-he believes that there has to be a creator. he wants to describe it through mathematics but even that won't describe the universe.
3. I think these opions help people view different aspects of the creation of the world.
1: Obviously this discussion is about the existence of God. Is there a God, that created this universe or is it just mankind that created God?
ReplyDelete2: Stephen Hawkings claims that there is no need for a God for a creation of a universe. Due to gravity and the forces of physics it might be possible that there can come out "something (universe) out of nothing, in fact that there may be several universes that we are not aware of. Father Robert Spitzer states that even if there is no need for a God to create the universe, it does not necessarily mean that he did not create the universe, saying that Stephen Hawkings might have done mistakes in his arguments, and that it is hard to defend the explanation of existence out of nothing. Deepak Chopra, on the other hand, argues with the facts that the experience and the knowledge of God is more important than faith or believe in God. There are no equations or physical explanations for the human functions, in fact God is the source for all these mathematical equations and physical forces.
3: This discussion about the existence of God greatly impacts our society, leading me to say that society, on its own, has to decide if there is a God or not. At the end, we all surely will find out.
1.) I felt so sad seeing stephen Hawking in his little chair! :( It was awesome though seeing how smart and intelligent all three men were. By far the most interesting part of these three videos, was that they all believe differently on how the world was created. I found it most interesting that Hawkings believes that science is what created the universe. Although very logical and backed up by data and science, I still think that he should recognize God, because without Him science wouldn't even be possible. It just baffles me how each man is so smart in their thinking, yet all believe different things.
ReplyDelete2.) Each scientist pretty much believed the same things but all stated different viewpoints. Hawkings proclaimed that the universe was created through science, and that no God is needed to have to prove that theory because science speaks for itself. Father Spitzer, a respected catholic man, discussed how God was the main creator of all and declared many important points in which I completely agree with. Lastly, the indian medical doctor Deepak Chopra also agrees with Spitzer in the sense that there has to be a creator.
3.) I think these opinions effect our society because we have so many different ideas and viewpoints of how the world came about, and much of humanity argues their opinions. Religion today also plays a big role in society today, because statistically, 76% of people in America are Christians. Living in a Christian society brings Christian beliefs about how the world came about, so much of the society WE live in believes that God is the maker of our universe.
